Last Friday, Scopely boldly went where no Scopelean has gone before – the San Diego Comic-Con stage. Our first-ever panel at the event, "Across the universe and your screens: the Star Trek experience,” featured Anson Mount, who plays Captain Christopher Pike on “Strange New Worlds,” David Eckelberry, Scopely’s vice president and general manager of product for “Star Trek™ Fleet Command,” Erika Winterholler, vice president of licensing, video games at Paramount, and moderator Kofi Outlaw from ComicBook.com.
The group discussed bringing the “Strange New Worlds” story arc to “Star Trek™ Fleet Command” and creating new Star Trek universes across multiple platforms. David and Erika underscored how essential a strong partnership is when expanding timelines in-game in order to keep fans engaged with the beloved IP and stay true to the story. David also shared how the teams at Scopely Studios DIGIT and Omnidrone create and implement timely in-game experiences so players can embrace the IP, new characters and ships as the universe expands – like with the arrival of the “Strange New Worlds” content.
