The Scopely Sevilla hub in Plaza Villasis was the place to be as teams of game enthusiasts, developers, designers and artists gathered for a weekend of coding, camaraderie, and fun competition. The challenge? Combine technical prowess with innovation and gaming magic in order to create new gaming concepts under the theme “Own it all.” All within the two-day timeframe!
The "MONOPOLY GO!" Game Jam provided a unique opportunity for participants to not only team up and brainstorm, sketch and code, but also network with industry experts. Our more senior Scopeleans shared insights, creating a bridge between aspiring developers and gaming veterans.
Once the clock ran out, our Scopely judges picked the best creations and handed out awesome prizes to the winners. And, of course, following the Sevilla way of doing things, we finished off the fun with a big paella feast, spicing up our celebration of gaming greatness.
"It was an awesome experience to see such good vibes, energy and creativity,” said Ale Moreno, executive producer on "MONOPOLY GO!" and one of the event organizers. “Demo time was unique! We enjoyed it for more than one hour with such awesome projects these nine teams prepared together. There even were people who came alone, without a team, and had a really good time."
Looking ahead to 2024, Enrique Tapia, Head of the Scopely Studio in Sevilla, shares his vision: "This Game Jam is the beginning of a set of activities and events that we will organize at our Studio and other locations in Sevilla to attract talent and push the growth of the Scopely, “MONOPOLY GO!"eam for 2024"
The "MONOPOLY GO!" Game Jam in Sevilla celebrated passion and talent in our gaming community. Thank you to everyone who participated and keep an eye out for the next one!
