Scopely X Mobile World Congress: Investing in talent, technology and the future of play

At this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Scopely leaders took the stage at two key events, Talent Arena and 4YFN, to share how we’re investing in the future of mobile gaming.

Across both conversations, one message was clear: long-term success in interactive entertainment requires investment in talent, infrastructure, and strategic capability.

Scaling a Global Hub

At Talent Arena, Hugo Pibernat, CTO of Playgami™, the Scopely Platform, highlighted the continued expansion of our Barcelona hub, including the addition of more than 1,500 square meters of new office space in the 22@ district.

This growth reflects our ongoing investment in world-class talent and collaborative environments. Barcelona has become a critical creative and technology center for Scopely, and we remain committed to strengthening its position as a leading global hub for game development.

Media coverage of Hugo's discussion was picked up in both El Periódico and El Economista.

Executing at Scale: IP, Data and Personalization

At 4YFN, Néstor Pequeño, Director of Operations at Scopely in Spain, focused on the capabilities that power our games at scale.

He shared insights from Scopely’s experience working with major global IP, explaining how strong brands can reduce barriers to entry and connect teams with highly engaged communities. At the same time, successful IP partnerships demand operational rigor, creative discipline and exceptional execution.

Néstor also emphasized that data alone is not a competitive advantage. Transforming data into meaningful player insight requires expertise, continuous refinement, and sustained investment—core strengths that underpin Scopely’s leadership in live services.

Looking ahead, he pointed to hyper-personalization as the next major shift in gaming. Delivering highly responsive, player-centric experiences at scale will require robust infrastructure and technological investment — raising the bar for the entire industry.

Scopely’s presence at MWC reflected both our growth in Barcelona and our broader ambition: combining talent, technology and operational excellence to shape the next generation of interactive entertainment.
