Scopely expands in Barcelona with new game-making, tech, and creative hub

Today, we officially opened the doors to Scopely’s new 8,500 m² hub in Barcelona — a major milestone for our global growth and a reaffirmation of our deep commitment to Spain.

Located in the city’s buzzing 22@ innovation district, the new space brings together more than 700 team members across game development, publishing, live ops, and creative disciplines. We’re proud to now be the largest games company in Spain by workforce, with more than 1,000 employees across our Barcelona and Seville offices, and remote teams throughout the country.

BUILT FOR THE FUTURE OF PLAY

Our new Barcelona hub isn’t just a workplace, it’s a launchpad for the future of play. It brings together the teams behind some of Scopely’s most iconic experiences, including “MONOPOLY GO!”, “Stumble Guys”, “Scrabble GO”, “Yahtzee With Buddies”, and “Star Trek™ Fleet Command”. In 2024 alone, our games reached nearly 500 million players globally, and many of those experiences were made possible right here in Barcelona.

Barcelona is also the global headquarters of Playgami™, our proprietary tech platform that powers our Scopely games. More than 150 team members, most based in Barcelona, have helped build Playgami™ into one of the industry’s most sophisticated publishing platforms.

It’s also the birthplace of FLAMED, our in-house creative marketing lab. Since launching in 2018, FLAMED has grown into a 100+ person team that blends storytelling, design, and technology to craft unforgettable global campaigns — another testament to Barcelona’s creative energy and talent.

DESIGNED FOR INNOVATION AND WELL-BEING

Housed at 70 Zamora Street in the Green Business District, our new hub integrates two historic modernist buildings with state-of-the-art smart offices designed by BCA Architects. The result is a space that reflects our values, blending innovation with sustainability and purpose.

We’ve prioritized employee well-being at every level, with expansive open areas, rooftop gardens, natural light, and healthy ventilation. The campus promotes sustainable mobility with EV charging stations, bike lanes, and aims for top green building certifications like LEED and BREEAM.

A CITY POISED TO LEAD

Barcelona is more than just a home for Scopely, it’s one of Europe’s fastest-growing centers for technology and creativity. With more than 100 technology hubs and over 15,000 professionals, the city generates an annual economic impact of €1.4 billion, according to Barcelona Global.

Catalonia’s games industry is thriving, accounting for 52% of Spain’s total video game turnover in 2022 and employing more than 4,600 professionals. The region is home to 239 development studios, and we’re proud to be playing a part in shaping its continued growth.

Our opening celebration welcomed distinguished guests including President of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Salvador Illa, and key leaders from Barcelona’s government and innovation community.
