Q: Which entrepreneur do you admire the most and why?
A: I’ve always been a fan of Richard Branson (and not just because he’s English!). There are many highly successful entrepreneurs who are widely unpopular due to their aggression and lack of care for others. Richard Branson is an example of leading with empathy, kindness and care while still showing the passion and risk-taking to be successful.

Q: What’s currently on your bedside reading list?
A: I don’t make time to read books these days, but I do like to listen to podcasts like “ColdFusion” while I’m driving. I believe that it’s important to absorb information and perspective from the world around us, not just our industry, in order to maximize our creative and strategic thinking.

Q: What is the best career advice you’ve gotten?
A: You don’t need a 10-year plan to be successful. Just know what type of work gives you energy and pursue that.

Q: Name one brand, other than the one you work for, that you admire.
A: Duolingo. I think what they’ve done with their unhinged owl and how they’ve leveraged that across their community and social media is excellent.

Q: What is your secret weapon for business success?
A: Hire great people who can do their jobs better than you ever could. Put value in passion, cultural alignment and curiosity as much as skills and experience.
