Scopely at 15: Celebrating a milestone anniversary and the power of play

When Scopely was founded 15 years ago, there was no blueprint or guaranteed path to success — only a belief in the power of play, its ability to bring people together, and that great games can stand the test of time.

From the beginning, we set out to build not just games, but always-evolving experiences and communities that could mean something to people for years to come. That meant caring deeply about players, committing to iteration, and taking a long-term view in an industry that moves and changes quickly. The path was not linear, and it was marked by breakthrough moments, as well as hard lessons along the way. It meant playing to win, not just in the short term, but over years.

What started in 2011 as a small team working out of an office above the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles has grown into a global organization of more than 3,000 employees, or Scopeleans as we call ourselves, working across 30+ countries. Along the way, we have expanded across genres, geographies, and platforms, building a portfolio of category-leading franchises and welcoming exceptional teams into the Scopely ecosystem. As one team – one Scopely – we have built and supported games that have reached billions of players around the world.

As we begin our year-long celebration of 15 years of inspiring play, we are proud to share a significant milestone along the journey — Scopely has surpassed $15 billion in lifetime revenue and more than 150 billion hours of playtime.

But this moment is not defined by revenue or downloads. It reflects the trust of the billions of players who choose to spend their time with our games, the communities that have grown and evolved alongside us, and the dedication of thousands of Scopeleans who continue to raise the bar with passion, ambition, creativity, and care for this company and one another.

And even 15 years in, we are just getting started. Our focus remains on inspiring play, every day, guided by the culture tenets that have shaped our journey: play to win; care deeply; ignite passion, earn loyalty; iterate to greatness; and embrace the adventure, and our belief that life is better when we play together.

Introducing Scopely’s 15-year emblem

To mark this milestone, we’re launching a year-long celebration with a visual flag-like emblem.

Inspired by the Scopely logo, our 15th anniversary flag also draws from the Japanese art of origami, symbolizing the craft, care, and precision that go into building games enjoyed by hundreds of millions of players around the world.

You will see this celebratory identity across our channels and moments as we mark this milestone throughout the year. It is a recognition of where we have been, and more importantly of the Scopeleans, players, creators, and communities who will shape what comes next. At Scopely, everything we do is rooted in igniting the passion and earning the loyalty of our players, delivering meaningful experiences and fostering communities that can bring a sense of belonging to people’s lives.

Celebrating with our players, across our games

At the heart of Scopely’s 15-year journey are the players. While it’s Scopely’s anniversary, our players are getting the gifts.

Across our portfolio, teams are planning a range of celebrations, from in-game rewards and special experiences to social moments, community activations, and giveaways. Each game will mark the milestone in a way that feels authentic to its players and its community.

While the details for each game will roll out throughout the year, the spirit is shared across Scopely: a collective “thank you” to the players who have made these games part of their lives, and who continue to inspire us every day.
