Say hi to Rachna.
Tell us a little about yourself and your journey at Scopely.
Hi, I'm Rachna Rao, and I work out of the Bangalore hub in India. I am the Senior Director of Product for “Bingo Bash” and have been at Scopely since August 2023.
How would you describe Scopely's culture?
Scopely's culture is defined by a relentless drive for success, setting a high bar as we pursue big, audacious goals. At the same time, it's a community with a big heart, where every team member feels safe, supported, and empowered to innovate. This unique blend of ambition and care creates an environment where we can take bold risks, celebrate every victory, and learn from every challenge along the way.
Which Scopely culture tenet resonates most with you?
I think the CARE DEEPLY tenet is the foundation of everything we do at Scopely. By caring deeply about our players and teammates, we lay the groundwork to IGNITE PASSION AND EARN LOYALTY. By caring about the experiences we deliver and the joy we bring to players worldwide, we PLAY TO WIN and EMBRACE EVERY ADVENTURE that comes our way.
What does diversity in gaming mean to you?
For me, diversity in gaming means providing an environment where every player and game maker feels heard and valued, regardless of their background or identity. It's about celebrating a wide range of perspectives. In such an environment, your work, passion for games, and empathy are the things that matter.
What is the best piece of advice you have received?
One of the best pieces of advice I've received is to never build without conviction. As a product owner, I learned that if you choose to pursue an idea, you are fully accountable for its success. This means it's essential to speak up, question assumptions, and engage in thoughtful debate to arrive at a solution you truly believe in. Embracing this mindset has empowered me to build products and features with integrity and confidence.
What is your favorite initiative, experience or program at Scopely?
My favorite initiative at Scopely is the annual Scopely Celebration Day. I remember joining Scopely in August, and just a month later, Scopely Celebration Day served as an incredible icebreaker, giving me the chance to meet and interact with colleagues from my hub. I also love that this event happens simultaneously across the globe, uniting all Scopeleans in one shared experience.
