**Tell us about yourself and your day-to-day responsibilities at Scopely.**
I’m Angela Benford and I work remotely from my home in the Sacramento, California area. I started at GSN Games in June of 2014 and have been with Scopely since they acquired GSN Games. I am currently a designer for an in-development project, however I have worn many hats over the years.

**What skills and qualifications are essential for success in this career? **
I would say the key to my success in the games industry has been my flexibility, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn new things. When I started in the industry, I was a chat moderator, and I've learned over the years how to do customer support, community management, live operations marketing and game design. I have also been very lucky to have some excellent managers who have really invested in me over the years. 

**Which Scopely culture tenet resonates most with you?**
**CARE DEEPLY & EMBRACE THE ADVENTURE.** I love what I do, and I love learning more. Along the way, you get to experience the adventures of making excellent games.

**What advice would you give to someone starting their career in your role? **
Become a sponge and be very observant. Find some coworkers, managers or someone who can mentor you - people who have a lot of excellent experience - and learn everything you can from them.

**What do you find most fulfilling about your career at Scopely?**
The joy we bring to others. The world can be a scary and stressful place, and I love providing a way for people to have an escape, even if it’s for just a small portion of their day.

**What resources would you recommend for someone starting out?**
Nothing beats firsthand knowledge, and for me, learning for the last 10 years didn’t come from a book, a podcast or a class, it was getting my hands dirty and learning from the best.
