Celebrating pride in our games

At Scopely, we are honored to serve a diverse group of players across varied geographies, generations and identities. As gamemakers, we believe it is our responsibility to build inclusive worlds where our players feel represented, seen and welcomed.

As we’ve done in previous years, this Pride Month we continued to support our players with a wide range of in-game features intended to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community.

Throughout June, many of our games embraced community events, introduced LGBTQIA+ identifying characters, and offered new opportunities for self-expression. Year after year, our players have told us that they appreciate these celebrations of Pride across Scopely titles, and we are thrilled to continue the tradition!

Some key additions to our games for Pride 2023 included:

“MARVEL Strike Force”

On June 1, we kicked off Pride Month by introducing seven new Player Frames to help Commanders celebrate their identity in brand new ways all month long. Wrapping up the month, we hosted a “Stand Proud, Together” event to unite alliances while earning great rewards along the way!

We also unveiled Vahl, the newest original MARVEL character created by the talented gamemakers at Boundless Entertainment, who will be available in-game soon! Vahl is the first non-binary “MARVEL Strike Force” character and the keeper of Valhalla. Every person perceives Vahl differently, as they appear as Masculine, Feminine and Non-Binary, with varied looks that celebrate different parts of their identity.

“MONOPOLY GO!”

On June 2, we kicked off Pride Month with a “Love is Love” deal, encouraging Tycoons to celebrate and explore a rainbow MONOPOLY universe - while reaping handsome rewards. All year long, players can discover Pride landmarks in boards representing Montreal and San Francisco as a tribute to the active Pride movements and history in those cities.

“ScrabbleⓇ GO”

“ScrabbleⓇ GO” celebrated P-R-I-D-E (8 points) all month long with new Pride-themed challenges and tournaments. All players earned rainbow tiles by completing matches in June, infusing the beloved word game with colorful Pride flair.

“Star Trek Fleet Command”

“Star Trek Fleet Command” hosted events both in and out of game to celebrate all of the Commanders that create our community. Out of game, Commanders shared stories about the bonds and friendships they’ve made with others around the world because of “Star Trek Fleet Command.” In-game, Commanders worked together to complete missions and unlock unique pride themed avatars.

“Stumble Guys”

Throughout June, “Stumble Guys” introduced new skins, allowing Stumblers to experience the game’s chaotic fun while celebrating inclusivity and acceptance. These new Pride-themed skins embrace the diversity of the LGBTQIA+ community, including Transgender, Non-Binary, and Asexual Pride.

“WWE Champions”

Pat Patterson, who many credit with inventing the Royal Rumble and who was also an outspoken member of the LGBTQIA+ community within the WWE universe, launched in “WWE Champions.” Players are able to unlock this new Super Star through Loot and Contest rewards, while learning about this important LGBTQIA+ WWE icon.

“Yahtzee With Buddies” + “Dice With Buddies”

“Yahtzee With Buddies” and “Dice With Buddies” held special “paint and roll” events that allowed players to customize their dice in stunning, colorful fashion while celebrating Pride month.

Keeping within theme, “Dice With Buddies” continued to celebrate Pride Month through our beloved Editor’s Choice Bundle, where players received two pride-themed dice in addition to the highly coveted Bonus Rolls, Mega Scratchers and wallpaper.
